Bret is currently the Managing Direction and Valuer of the Opteon (Toowoomba) firm. He specialises in client valuations and was appointed as Senior Area Valuer (Departments of Valuer-General, Lands and Natural Resources and Mines) by the Queensland Government for 22 years. 17 years of this period was based in the Darling Downs locality covering a wide range of valuation matters. As Queensland Manager – Client Valuations Bret was responsible for the Management of Asset Valuations for the Department of Education; Department of Emergency Services, Police Department and Powerlink (Braemar Interconnector Project).

From from June 2002 Bret was the Director of Opteon (Central and Southern QLD) Pty Ltd, Toowoomba Office and his relevant experience includes the valuation of residential; rural residential/hobby farms; rural property; rental appraisal and lease negotiation; investment analysis; property acquisition and disposal; project management; englobo subdivision lands; freestanding and multi-tenanted commercial properties (retail and office); industrial properties; single and multi-unit residential developments and feasibility studies; freehold/leasehold and going concern assessments of hotels, motels and caravan parks; service stations and self storage facilities; and asset valuations for financial reporting purpose.
